Recovery at 6:33

Recovery at 6:33

You may have heard that recovery is a journey not a destination. This is true. Another way of stating this concept is recovery is a process not a program, it is about living our daily life not completing a program. The process contains programs that are applicable to all of us and programs that are unique to us and our situation; programs that enable us to live life given our past, our trials, our capabilities and our desires.

The recovery process at 6:33 is comprehensive and multifaceted. It includes an in-house Christian, scripture-based, step program that is common to all residents.

In addition there are small group and individual sessions addressing individual recovery and spiritual growth, as well as, programs to address common stumbling blocks to recovery. Spiritual reflection and discussion with like-minded peers empower recovering addicts against feelings of guilt or shame that often lead to relapse.

The process at 6:33 is about maintaining sobriety while developing recovery that is uniquely suited for each individual. This requires the full involvement of each resident.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” ~Dr. Seuss

"No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

              ~1 Corinthians 10:1

"The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel."
